Betting Guide

A complete walkthrough for placing your first bet on PokéMarket, from connecting your wallet to receiving your winnings.

Before You Start

Make sure you have the following ready:

Solana Wallet

We recommend Phantom or Solflare. Download from their official websites:

USDC Tokens

All bets are placed in USDC (USD Coin on Solana). You'll need:

  • • USDC for your bets
  • • Small amount of SOL for transaction fees (~0.01 SOL)
1

Connect Your Wallet

Click the "Connect Wallet" button in the top-right corner of the header.

When connecting:

  • • Select your wallet provider (Phantom or Solflare)
  • • Approve the connection request in your wallet
  • • Your wallet address will appear in the header when connected

Your wallet never shares your private keys with PokéMarket. We only see your public address and request transaction signatures.

2

Browse Markets

The homepage displays all available prediction markets. You can filter markets by:

Live - Active markets accepting betsEnded - Resolved marketsAll - Every market

Use the category navigation to filter by card type (Base Set, Special Art, etc.). The search bar helps find specific cards.

Tip: Featured markets at the top of the homepage often have the highest liquidity and most activity.

3

    Choose Your Side

Click "Yes" if you think the card will exceed the threshold, or "No" if not.

  2. b

Your wallet will prompt you to approve the transaction. Review and confirm.

Important: Once placed, bets cannot be canceled or modified. Your position is locked until the market resolves.

5

Track Your Position

Visit the Portfolio page to see all your active positions and betting history.

Your Portfolio Shows:

  • • Active bets on live markets
  • • Current odds and potential payouts
  • • Pending claims from resolved markets
  • • Historical wins and losses

Note: Odds may change after you bet as others enter the market. Your potential payout depends on the final pool sizes at market close.

6

Receive Your Winnings

When a market resolves in your favor, your winnings are automatically distributed to your wallet. No action required on your part!

How It Works:

  • • The market resolves based on the oracle price feed
  • • Winnings are calculated based on your share of the winning pool
  • • USDC is automatically transferred to your wallet
  • • You'll see the payout reflected in your Portfolio

Automatic Payouts: Unlike other platforms, PokéMarket automatically distributes winnings when markets resolve. Check your wallet balance after resolution!

Betting Tips

Do Your Research

Check recent sales on TCGPlayer, eBay, and price tracking sites. Look for trends and upcoming events that might affect prices.

Consider the Odds

Low-probability bets (under 20%) offer higher potential returns but are riskier. High-probability bets are safer but yield less.

Bet What You Can Lose

Prediction markets involve risk. Never bet more than you're comfortable losing entirely.

Timing Matters

Early bets when pools are small can yield higher returns but carry more uncertainty about final odds.
